Center for Discovery has been helping adolescents and teens with eating disorders for over 17 years. At Center for Discovery, we provide residential eating disorder treatment for male and female adolescents and teens ages 10 to 18 and adult women ages 18 and up. Our mission is to provide the personalized, intensive and effective treatment necessary to affect behavioral, social, emotional, and spiritual growth for individuals with eating disorders. At Center for Discovery, we know that while the symptoms of eating disorders are often similar, the issues contributing to eating disorders can vary greatly from person to person. We consider this understanding critical to providing effective and individualized treatment for individuals with eating disorders.

We provide residential treatment in home-like settings in residential neighborhoods. Our locations offer an intimate treatment setting with no more than 8 residents at one time with a low resident to staff ratio. Treatment within a residential neighborhood also allows residents to feel more comfortable in a familiar surrounding as well as providing greater transferability and internalization of the treatment experience to life after treatment. Our locations do not look, feel or smell like a hospital and we strive to provide an environment where residents feel like and are treated like people, never patients.

Center for Discovery’s nutrition program promotes active participation in the kitchen. As they progress, residents will be involved in menu planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, and daily cooking while in treatment. On a weekly basis, residents attend an off-site restaurant challenge and learn to manage the stress and emotions involved in various public settings. Individually resident’s will participate in the Therapeutic Family Meal where the dietitian, primary therapist, and select family members eat together in order to develop skills which promote supportive family meal experiences.

Clients Include: Center for Discovery treats males and females ages 10 – 18 and women 18 and over.
Treatment Models: Family Therapy, Individual Therapy, Group Therapy (DBT, Body Image, Movement Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, etc), Intensive Hands On Nutrition Program, Comprehensive Medical Assessment, Personally Tailored Behavioral Interventions
