Student Bodies Prevention Program
STUDENT BODIES ONLINE PROGRAM
Student Bodies© is an eight week course combining an understanding of body image and self esteem with self-assessment and self-improvement tools. It is an interactive, web-delivered prevention program developed and studied at Stanford University and Washington University in St. Louis. This is a prevention program for women who are at RISK of developing eating disorders, are troubled by poor body image or struggle with low self esteem. It will not resolve eating disorder behaviors.
“Student Bodies” includes information about nutrition, exercise and eating disorders, and how to become media savvy. Women who fully participate in all eight weeks have experienced significant improvement in their body images and self esteem. This password protected program includes an online moderator and a discussion board for the group.
“This program helped me see a side of me I have not seen in a long time. I saw myself as beautiful.I learned that I am not the only one going through what I am going through, and that there are people willing to help.”

“It was really nice to be encouraged to be healthy and not necessarily lose weight. That’s something that is different than other programs like this one. One important thing I learned is that there are so many other people out there that feel the same way I do. When the problem is your self-esteem or your body image, it’s easy to feel so alone. But because of this program I learned not to feel that way. ”
