Cachexia
Cachexia, also known as “wasting disorder,” is an eating-related issue experienced by many cancer patients. An individual with cachexia will either continue to eat normally, but their body simply refuses to utilize the vitamins and nutrients that it is ingesting, or they will lose their appetite and just stop eating. When a patient experiencing loss of appetite stops eating altogether, they are now considered to have developed tendencies of anorexia. The issue of cachexia and anorexia following a diagnosis of cancer is a very serious one.
