OUTREACH PROGRAM & SCHOOL GUIDELINES
A Free In-Service Program on Eating Disorders for Students & Teachers
“The speakers from ANAD were able to dig deeper into the reality of eating disorders and have given our students the opportunity to ask some very significant questions. It’s truly an eye opening experience for them!”
-Jessica Levin, Deer Path Middle School Health Teacher, Lake Forest
SCHOOL OUTREACH PROGRAM
Does your school staff have the tools necessary to deal with eating disorders? While most schools have extensive alcohol/drug education programs, very few offer eating disorders education or prevention programs. ANAD takes an active role in educating school personnel, parents and students about understanding and preventing eating disorders.
Our program helps empower students to feel good about a healthy body of any shape of any size. Consider the impact this program can have within your health and wellness curriculum. Prevention is the greatest cure for this epidemic therefore, our goal is to offer presentations/lessons that can be done during one class period or repeated throughout the school day. The program includes an introduction/teaching/curriculum with an ED professional, compelling videos, handouts, and may conclude with question/answer time with a recovered ED speaker.
Lastly, we also offer our services for school health fairs if you do not have time within your curriculum for a guest speaker.
